SYNOPSIS
According to an Islamic dictionary, a lakit is an illegitimate abandoned child. According to Lebanese law, he is absolutely disenfranchised. Saleh has no right to education or travel. He has no right to obtain a passport or any document. He has been in jail several times because he has no documents. The state punished Saleh just for being born.

Marie Surae
Marie Surae is a director, screenwriter and producer with over 16 years of experience in the film industry. In 2014, the short fiction film The Last One produced by Marie Surae was selected for the Official Competition of Short Films at the Cannes FF. Later it participated in 87 film festivals and received 9 awards. In 2017, Marie Surae directed a documentary mid-length film about Syrian refugees Fleeing the War. The film received a Special Award from the UNHCR. In 2021, she finished her debut feature The Anger (a co-production between Lebanon and Germany). In 2021, Marie Surae also directed two documentaries: I’m Not Lakit and 10 and Virginia.
