SYNOPSIS
Josefina is a 40-year-old nun who is about to take her perpetual vows. She is called back to her childhood village to attend her father’s funeral when she meets her 15-year-old nephew who has been abandoned by his mother. Isolated, back in the old family house, the nun and her nephew feel disconcerted as religion, family, and love become entangled.

David Bonneville
Born 1978. David Bonneville was born in Porto and is a screenwriter and director. His short film Cigano premiered at Locarno, Guadalajara, and SXSW; it won several Best Film, Screenplay, Directing, Acting, Cinematography, and Audience Awards. L'Arc-en-ciel premiered at Fantasporto and won the Best Actress Award in Coimbra, at the Mostralíngua Festival. Heiko was nominated at IndieLisboa, Slamdance and Transylvania FF. It won the Award for the Best Short Film at the MIX: CPH. David began his career as an assistant to Palme d'Or winner Manoel de Oliveira as well as Turner Prize winner Douglas Gordon. David has also worked at the BBC. The Last Bath is his first feature film.
