SYNOPSIS
A Woman, my Mother is the story of a woman who didn’t want to have children. This woman is the filmmaker’s mother. He sets out to find her in a poetic essay that blurs the line between documentary and fiction.

Claude Demers directed his first feature, The Invention of Love, in 2000, which was followed by a documentary trilogy: Barbers, a Men’s Story (2006), The Ladies in Blue (2009) and Where I’m from (2014). In 2016, he directed My Last Summer, a short fiction, which received 17 awards in several countries. Poetic and human, his films have received awards and been selected in international festivals, such as Rotterdam, São Paulo, Palm Springs, Hot Docs, La Rochelle, RIDM, Vancouver, Hot Docs Interfilm-Berlin, European Independent FF.
