SYNOPSIS
The documentary tells the stories of those singing in the Choir of Armenian Association of the Blinds. The choir formed back in the USSR and struggled through the difficult social conditions in newly independent Armenia. Since 1976, roughly 70 percent of the choir members are blind singers. Following Armenia’s “velvet revolution” in 2018, new hopes and expectations have arisen for stronger support and better conditions. Yet, today, the choirs fate remains vague.

Hakob Manukyan
Hakob Manukyan graduated from the Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema’s Department of Documentary Filmmaking in 2011. Two years later, he received a Master’s degree from the same Institute. Since 2011, Hakob Manukyan has been working at CivilNet.am online news platform. From 2016 to 2017, he lived and worked in the Urban Prod Multimedia Association in Marseille but returned to CivilNet as the director of the documentary department.
