SYNOPSIS

An Armenian artistic world exists today in France and in the world, that expresses itself, think on its identity, its history, but always, at the same time, deeply rooted in the culture of its adopted country.

To reflect this cultural richness, we have chosen to make a documentary film that aims to tell of this link and its transmission, highlighting the creative force of artists of Armenian origin through generations.

The film portrays these men and women artists, their creations and their relationship to their culture, and the link that binds them to their children, also enrolled in artistic expression.

Originally from Lyon, David steeped in a strong artistic environment since his parents, both architects, had a wide circle of friends that included many artists, visual artists, directors, and musicians. He started to co-direct short programmes in 1995 with his brother Raphaël. Afterwards, they worked for music videos (Sinead O'Connor, Elton John, Suede, Ryiuchi Sakamoto, Lloyd Cole...), commercials (Gold Lion in 2000 for Bic, Lee Cooper, Vinci…) and shorts, among others a 17 minutes film named “Angels”, which won a CNC Quality Award (National Centre of Cinematography) and was selected for numerous festivals in France and abroad. He also directed a documentary about sexuality in 2010. David has released in 2018 his first feature film: “Et mon Coeur transparent”. The film was out with a very warm welcome from audience and press. A strange and mysterious thriller shoot in Corsica with the actors Julien Boisselier, Sara Giraudeau and Caterina Murino. At the moment he is working on two feature film projects: a road-movie in India as well as a film on sub marine abyssal creatures. He has a real passion for photography for twenty years now (current exhibition at different galleries in Paris). When it comes to films or pictures, his work includes a strong inclination for surrealistic subjects inhabited by human fragility and emotion.
