SYNOPSIS
Aida Simon is a dancer, actress, choreographer, teacher and a fitness bikini model. She works any job that she can just to stay afloat. We witness her as she prepares for the play Pro Shamiram. The plot of the play is based on the ancient Armenian legend Ara the Beautiful and Shamiram, which tells the story of the powerful Assyrian queen Shamiram who falls in love with the Armenian king Ara the Beautiful. Dilemma in Aida’s life transmits through the play and she becomes Shamiram.

She was born in Yerevan, Armenia. Graduated from Yerevan State University, Department of Applied Mathematics, and then was post-graduated student of Department of Sociology, graduated also Courses of Filmmakers. Her films participated in different film festivals and received prizes. Since 2000, she is director of Legal Gender Cultural Foundation “Liza”. Since 2004, Mariam Ohanyan is the director of International Women’s Film Festival “Kin”.
