SYNOPSIS
A down-on-her-luck, devoted single mom writes off her young son's crossword puzzle obsession as genius. She does so until an unexpected encounter with a stranger makes her realize that her son needs much more than she alone can give him.

Born 1966, Los Angeles, California. After graduating from Yale University with an English degree, studying sculpture and photography in Italy, and working for a New Jersey state senator, Lisanne Sartor moved to Los Angeles to be a writer/director. She got waylaid when she was admitted to the DGA Assistant Director Training Program. She received an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA, where she won numerous screenwriting awards, including the Samuel Goldwyn Award. She recently completed a short film, Six Letter Word, which she wrote and directed through the AFI Directing Workshop for Women. It was screened at the American Pavilion at Cannes Emerging Filmmaker Showcase and the Cannes Short Film Corner in May 2013.
