SYNOPSIS
This film is about Henrik Malyan, a People’s Artist of Soviet Armenia and the Soviet Union. To be more exact, the film is about his thoughts from his book. In the film’s titles we read: ‘Scriptwriter and director: Henrik Malyan”. In the film we hear about his thoughts on the crisis of modern art, the audience and cinematography; all of which are addressed in his book and still relevant and noteworthy today. His work has deeply fostered the development of Armenian national cinema because of its combination of the national and the global.

Born 1953, Yerevan, Armenia. Davtyan studied film directing in the Department of Culture at Yerevan State Pedagogical Institute named after Khachatur Abovyan. Since 1969 he worked for TV companies in Yerevan, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Stepanakert and also at state institutions of Armenia. Davtyan has participated in numerous USSR and international festivals and competitions. His films have been rewarded with a number of awards.
