The little boy doesn’t accept the news of his father’s death and continues to wait for his return unlike his mother whomarries another man. And, indeed, his father returns but leaves for war again, as soon as his wounds heal. This time he is really killed, but the boy is strong enough to withstand the blow.

Hovhannisyan, Bagrat

(Born - 13.08.1929 in Baku. Died - 06.04.1990 in Yerevan.)
1938-1946 - lived with his parents in Iran. 1946 - his family immigrated to Armenia. 1956 - graduated from the Romano-Germanic Philology Department of Yerevan State University. 1957-61- a post-graduate student of Yerevan Institute of Literature, later studied in the Institute of World Literature in Moscow. Since1961 - worked at Armenfilm Studio as an editor, assistant director and film director. 1964-66 - practiced in Moscow at Mosfilm Studio, acted as a director-practitioner during the shootings of Andrei Tarkovsky's film "Andrei Rublev." Tarkovsky was the creative adviser of the Hovhanissian's first feature film "Winepress (Sour Grape)."
