News and Press ReleasesGOLDEN APRICOT continues the fruitful collaboration with embassies and international organizationsJuly 8, 2010 11:52 During the 7 years of its activity GOLDEN APRICOT International Film Festival stably cooperates with a number of embassies and other international missions. Expanding each year, the festival has recorded an effective experience of collaboration in this sphere. For several years GOLDEN APRICOT has successfully been cooperating with the embassies of the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Poland in Armenia, as well as operating with a number of international organizations. GOLDEN APRICOT continues collaborating with such prestigious international institutions as the uniFrance international network and the offices of Goethe Institute in Tbilisi and Munich. This year, the festival is also supported by the Delegation of the European Union in Armenia and British Council Armenia. Thanks to the above mentioned international organizations, many guests will visit Armenia within the framework of the festival. In addition, a number of films have reached the festival with their support, giving the Armenian audience a chance to watch the best samples of the world cinema. Particularly, Directors Across Borders Co-Production Forum and the Armenian-Turkish cinema platform are implemented during the 7th GOLDEN APRICOT with the support of the U.S. Embassy and the EU Delegation. With the support of the French Embassy a tribute will be paid to Henri Verneuil, famous Armenian film director, with a special retrospective screening of his films in Armenia. By the efforts of the German Embassy and Goethe Institute a German director, a son of Turkish parent, Fatih Akin will arrive to Armenia. The Polish Embassy has supported the opening night of Polish famous director Krzysztof Zanussi’s new film in Yerevan. British Council Armenia has established a special prize for the best short film of Armenian Panorama program, which will get an opportunity to participate in Bristol Film Festival. This year the festival starts a new partnership with the Embassy of Brazil in Armenia. With their support Armenian-Brazilian film critic, writer and film director Leon Cakoff (Shatarevyan), who is the founder of San Paolo International Film Festival in 1977, will arrive to Armenia. |
