In a remote mountainous area in Afghanistan after the Taliban regime, two American soldiers –a white officer and an African-American soldier – are lost after the crash of their helicopter. The soldier waits for a chance to run away from the officer while the wounded officer coerces the soldier with a pistol to carry him around. The two are in discord but they need each other to survive in the hostile land. When they cross the poppy field, both ease the pain from their wounds, fatigue and dread of the war by sipping the substance of the poppy capsules. In the middle of the poppy field they soon notice armored personnel carriers (APC) with a white flag, the Taliban symbol.. Without even being properly armed they attack the vehicles. But what they find in the APCs is an Afghan family living inside…

Barmak, Siddiq

Siddiq Barmak (born 1962, Panjshir)
He got his MA degree in cinema direction from the Film School in Moscow (VGIK) in 1987. Barmak has written several film scripts and directed several short films in Afghanistan and has been the manager of governmental organization, Afghan, from 1992 to 1996. He has also accepted responsibility for the management of the Afghan Children’s Education Movement (ACEM). Since its existence, the movement completed 63 projects inside Iran and Afghanistan.All his works were banned during the time of the Taliban.
