2007, 117min.

Script/Dir./Dir. of Phot.: Faramarz K-Rahber, Compos.: Colin Webber, Sound: Faramarz K-Rahber, Alex Waller, Edit.: Axel Grigor

In the late 1990s an Australian puppeteer Brian and his colleague traveled to a festival in Lahore, Pakistan. During those 10 days the young man, raised by liberal parents, fell in love with the 17-year-old Amber, a Muslim girl. “Poetry is what it is when we look at each other,” he explains with great emotion. Back in Brisbane, Brian started studying Islam and even converted. Aamir, as he was called from then on, wanted to marry the girl he loved at all costs. Two years after their encounter, he had finally saved enough money to travel to Amber and her parents in Lahore to ask for her hand. The multicultural relationship turned out to be tougher than he expected. Miscommunication as well as social and cultural differences complicated things, even if all parties did do their best to make the marriage a possibility.
