Garpastum is a Latin word for ball game. Set in 1914 in St. Petersburg, the brothers Andrey and Nikolai are passionate about the matches they play in the streets. They plan to buy a playing field. But World War I has already begun and soon their lives and dreams will be shattered.

German, Aleksei - jr.

Aleksei German, born 04.09.1976, Moscow.
Studied for two years at the Department of Theater, St. Petersburg Theater Art Academy, thereafter continued his education at the VGIK, the Department of Directors. After short student films, he made the feature length film, “The Last Train” awarded the won the Certain Regard Prize at the Venice Festival and Grand Prix in Thessaloniki.
