A German film director of Armenian origin, he studied Theatre Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin before starting writing scripts for feature films, and directing and producing short films. His career as a film director and script writer was especially influenced by such filmmakers as Atom Egoyan, Abbas Kiarostami, Mohsen Makhmalbaf and Majid Majidi.
