Eli walks alone in a post-apocalyptic America. He heads west along the Highway of Death on a mission he doesn't fully understand, but knows he must complete. In his backpack is the last copy of a book that could become the wellspring of a revived society. Or, in the wrong hands, the hammer of a despot. Eli keeps his blade sharp and his survival instincts sharper as his quest thrusts him into a savage wasteland…and into explosive conflict with a resourceful warlord set on possessing the book. ''We walk by faith, not but sight,'' quotes Eli. Those words hit home with unexpected meaning and power.

Hughes Brothers, The

The Hughes Brothers (born 1972, Detroit, Michigan)
American film directors, producers and screenwriters. They are twins, born to an African-American father and an Armenian mother, from an Iranian-Armenian family originating in Tehran. Supporting her sons’ ambitions as filmmakers, the mother gave them a video camera when they were twelve. The boys spent their free time making short films (Menace, The Drive by). After high school, Albert began classes at LACC Film School. The Hughes brothers’ first film, Menace II Society, premiered at the Cannes IFF. Their follow-up film, Dead Presidents, written by award-winning playwright Michael Henry Brown made its debut at the New York FF in 1995. Next came their feature-length documentary American Pimp, which made its debut at the 1999 Sundance FF. In 2001 the Hughes directed From Hell starring Johnny Depp and Heather Graham. Their debut as executive producers for the small screen (TV) came with the USA Network series Touching Evil. Allen and Albert Hughes have proven talents in music. Their first two soundtracks, Menace II Society and Dead Presidents, which they produced, went platinum. Some of their past projects include music videos for multiple award-winning artists, including Marvin Gaye's Inner City Blues, as well as the re-release of Isaac Hayes’ Walk On By. The Hughes also directed two PSAs on gun control entitled Stray Bullet and These Walls Have No Prejudice, which have won 44 awards to date, including four Clio Awards.
