Woman Without Piano portrays 24 hours in the domestic, professional and sexual daily life of the 21st-century housewife in Madrid. The main characters are a suitcase, a pair of shoes, Carmen Machi (in her first leading movie role) and Czech actor, composer and scriptwriter Jan Budar.

Javier Rebollo
Woman Without Piano is his second feature film. He directed his first, Lola, in 2006. The movie has received awards in many international film festivals, including the FIPRESCI Award at the London FF, The Grand Prix at the Seoul IFF, Grand Prix from the Marseille FF, the Best Director Prize in festivals in Montevideo (Uruguay) and Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), and The Best First Work Award at the festivals of Tudela (Spain), Guadalajara (Mexico), Madrid Imagen (Spain) and Chicago (USA). Before that, Javier Rebollo had over 10 years experience in writing and directing short films. Among his accomplishments are nominations for the American Academy Award, and the Goya Prize (Spanish Film Academy Award) and participation in several most important festivals (Clermont-Ferrand, Cracow, Montreal, Locarno, etc.). He also collaborated with the Spanish Television (TVE, La 2) in a series of documentaries that gained him the Journalist Prize of Reina Sofía in 2006. In 1996, along with Damián París and Lola Mayo, he set up the production company Lolita Films, with which he has produced all his short films and television documentaries. Between his own and other acclaimed Spanish directors' short films, the company has won more than 200 awards.
