Tehran in Photographs Iran 2008, 54min.

How was the image of Tehran registered in photographs? The film tries to answer this question and comes to the conclusion that the image of the relatively small town of a century ago and the megacity of today is the outcome of three histories: history of the development of the city itself; history of the development of the technology of photography from early huge cameras to the tiny digital ones of today and the evolution of our attitude towards photography, which was considered a technological instrument in the early decades after its invention, but has increasingly become to be known as art. The film is based on photographs from various periods and is contemplation on man’s love of holding on to pictures and immortalizing himself.
