The action of the film takes place within 24 hours in the city somewhere at the seaside. It starts in the morning and ends at the dawn of the next day. There are seven different stories told in the film and seven various married young couples, lovers and siblings, trying to solve their own moral and emotional as well as self-expression problems. There are also two other characters in the film – the guard taking care of the pier and nearby little beach, defending them against the scrap-iron collectors – and the radio presenter of the local station, who forecasts the weather and talks to the listeners. The scenes with the mare kind of the leitmotiv of the film.

Lazarkiewicz, Piotr

Piotr Lazarkiewicz (1954 – 2008, Cieplice, Poland)
Screen writer, film director, film journalist, producer, and teacher. Graduate of the Polish Philology Departmentt of the Wrocław University and graduate of the Directing faculty at the Radio and Television Department of the Silesian University in Katowice.
