Wind Man tells a story which brings together legends and black humour in the steppes of Kazakhstan. One night, with the lightning from the sky, a strange, winged creature falls into a small village in the middle of the steppe: the Wind Man. As this old man with broken big white wings passes his days only drinking water among these people whose language he doesn't speak, the Muslim community of the village, who can't make out what exactly to do with this creature "fallen" on them, who some think is an angel, and resembles neither bird nor man, try to understand him with a series of guesses and intentions. The Wind Man, with whom the villagers fail to communicate, draws the curiosity and attention of the small child of the house whose roof he fell through. The villagers live in fear of an evil spirit whose existence no one can quite determine, and in time, suffer a series of disasters, which may or may not be related to the Wind Man.
