Causing victims and destruction, the First World War also caused silence – the silence around the Armenian Genocide. The absolute indifference shown by Europe in that time is the same today. The starting point of this documentary is to understand a history made up of many little stories drifting in the sea of memory and to try to make them heard once they dock to the present.

Federico Rorato and Paolo Facco

Federico Rorato (born 1973), Paolo Facco (born 1984)
Paolo Facco and Federico Rorato met by chance in a cinema in 2004 and, sharing a passion for cinema, they soon started to work together. They have shot a number of underground short films in Super8. In 2005 they started working on their first full-length film: an inquiry documentary that will engage them for the following two years. Paolo Facco has graduated from the Department of Development Cooperation, the University of Padova. Federico Rorato has graduated from the Department of Modem Literature at the University of Padova; he also plays the bass guitar in a band called “Quid” – the one that authored the soundtrack for the Stories without History.
