Many contemporary cities are under intense growth pressure because of the new building and migration. The conflict between progress and preservation of the authentic historical urban environment may lead the city to “museumification”. Venice is one of such places. At the first glance of a tourist it seems to be just a “beautiful facade of a museum”. The question we ask ourselves: does any real life exist here? At her exciting journey, the director discovers the surprising answer meeting Venetians – the real citizens of Venice in their daily life…

Daniliyants, Tatiana

Tatiana Daniliyants
Daniliyants studied Fine Art & Art History at the Surikov Fine Art Institute (Moscow) and Film Directing at the Higher Courses of Cinematography (Moscow). She has been a student of Andrzej Wajda (in Krakow in 1997). Daniliyants worked as a film director for TV and production companies (TNT, Klio-film and others) and as a scriptwriter for the international AdAgencies. In 2001 Tatiana Daniliyants and Neil Withers founded the Butterfly Angel Film Studio (Moscow). Since 2004 she is a curator of a unique program in Russia “Moscow: Art-house in short films” that promotes short films. She is also a poet, twice a prize winner of international festival of verse libre, author of 2 books of poetry. Tatiana Daniliyants lives and works in Moscow.
