The life of Marcela, an ordinary Czech woman is explored throughout several decades of her life. The documentary observes several important societal issues. We are engaged to struggle and fight back with Marcela as her tragic life unfolds before our eyes especially dealing with her daughter’s unexpected death which almost drives her too suicide. However, the responsibility she feels for her retarded son gives her the will to survive.

Třeštiková, Helena

Helena Třeštiková (born 22.06.1949, Prague)
Graduated from the Department of Documentary Film at FAMU, Prague. Since l974 she has worked as a professional documentary filmmaker, and has made around fifty documentary films of various lengths and formats, mostly on the themes of human relationships and various social issues.
