For Krimo, a teenager living in the suburbs of Paris, days go by, carrying the weight of his boredom around the neighborhood... Until a few lines from a 19th century play by Marivaux echo in an open field, and suddenly nothing seems quite the same anymore: blonde and beautiful Lydia, all dressed-up in her theatre costume, is rehearsing the school play. And Krimo falls in love with her. Despite the reputation Krimo has to sustain, he will accept a role in the play in order to declare his love. Will he find the right words?...

Kechiche, Abdel (Abdellatif)

Abdel (Abdellatif) Kechiche (born 07.12.1960, Tunis, Tunisia)
Before undertaking filmmaking he used to act in theatre. First appearance on stage was in 1978 in a play by Federico Garcia Lorca. Beginning from 1984 has been playing parts in cinema as well. Then appeared in the other side of camera. His debut It's Voltaire's Fault, a sincere and innovative film about underground immigration upon his own script, gained prizes in in Venice and Namur International Film Festivals. Games of Love and Chance is his second film, which like the previous one was shot with modest resources.
