The film is a pilgrimage to the Promised Land, to West Armenia. This is the visit of a devoted son to his ancestors, to their graves, to captive and destroyed towns and villages, abandoned fields and temples, ruined churches.
He had gone to light a candle for unburied souls, to continue the prayer unfinished by grandfathers, to celebrate his 20th marriage anniversary on his homeland, village Latar, and to get their blessing, to drink the water of his homeland, and to make the touching and divine melody of Armenian song and duduk heard in his homeland. This is the expression of the son’s love, pain, longing, complaint and fight.
