In the mountains in the south of Chile, a small group of elderly women resist the project of the construction of a gigantic dam that will stop the flow of the Bio-Bio River and flood the lands where their ancestors have lived for centuries. Berta Quinterman is one of these women, the leader of the resistance. A woman of unique character, Berta lives alone and modestly, and respects the traditions of her people. At the same time she resists the authorities and the government.

Larrain, Esteban

Esteban Larrain (born 1973)
In 1995, he graduated from the University of Chile with a degree in Social Communication. In 1998, he went to Cuba to study at the Film School at San Antonio de Los Banos. During 1999 and 2001, Larrain carried out specialization studies in Cinematography in Rome. During this period, he directed four short feature films. In 2002, he returned to Chile where he is an independent film director.
