Distant, TheTurkey 2004, 65min.
Script/Dir./Dir of Phot./Edit.: Kazim Oz.
The film is about a once densely populated village that today is inhabited only by a few elderly people. The village has been deserted because of war, migration and economic reasons. Most of the villagers have migrated to Europe, and some have relocated to the metropolitan centres of Turkey. The film shows the lifestyles and longings of the villagers in Europe, and in metropolitan cities, as well as those who remain in the village. It compares the old and new value systems and tells of the alienation between the old and new generations. | Oz, Kazim Kazim Oz (born 1973, Dersim)
