From 1993 to 1995 he studied social sciences at George-August University, at Göttingen from 1995 to 2000 and studied journalism at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. From 1995 to 1998 he trained at the German School of Journalism in Munich. He worked at Radio 7, Ulm, and collaborated with Frankfurter Rundschau and Süddeutsche Zeitung magazines. From 2001 to 2003 he edited MUM Magazine, in Munich.
