In 1952 he was the youngest branch supervisor of one of the daily newspapers published by the Axel Springer editing house. Since 1956, he has made number of documentaries about various countries. His film, Summons of Gods about India was awarded the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. In 1967, on behalf of Dieter Wawzin Western, Germany for the first time got permission to make documentary films about Soviet Union. He made 6 documentaries from 60.000 meters of films, including Armenian Images.
