The director investigates the "second wife" phenomenon in Mardin province and its effects on women, taking inspiration from her paternal aunt who was sent as a second wife to her cousin when she was 16-years~o!d and was paralysed after domestic violence. In this documentary, aunt Emine's story is actually told by other second wives. Being the second wife is domestic violence in itself, therefore women describe this situation as "wearing the dress of death." Emine will never be able to talk again, but what about other second wives?

She received her undergraduate degree from Dicle University's Biology Department. She got her master's degree from the Faculty of Communication - Marmara University, Department of Cinema. She has worked as a journalist in DIHA (Dicle News Agency), and Yedinci Gündem and Gündem newspapers. She received various national and international awards with her first short, The Last Game. After her first short film she directed another short, Nora and The Seed. She is also the author of the book, Rejisör Atıf Yılmaz, based on interviews made with the legendary Turkish film director late Atıf Yılmaz.
