Film is about a 50 years-old Georgian architect sentenced for life having spent in New York’s famous prison of Sing Sing 13 years. They say he is serving the sentence for someone. When close friends ask him ‘Why?’ he answers he does it because of love. The film is also about the French woman who is a photographer falling in love with the prisoner Georgian. She leaves her successful career and high social state in Paris and devotes her life to the man who has been on the verge. When asked “Why?” she answers – “because of love”.
| Kandelaki, Davit Davit Kandelaki (born 1956)
Kandelaki graduated from the Department of Architecture, the Tbilisi Academy of Fine Arts in 1980 and the Georgian Institute of Theatre and Film in 1989. He worked as an architect at the Experimental Institute of Design from 1980 to 1983 and has been a director at Documentary Film Studio since 1983.
