CBCCEXECUTIVE SUMMARY | Report on CBCC activities 2008 | Links Being established last year, the CBCC program, which has a concrete performances approved in Road Map in February 1, 2008, was succeed. Many programs, provided by Road Map, were realized. Particularly for us (Armenia) the most important event was that the 2 programs realized by Golden Apricot were involved in CBCC program activities. For instance, the conference, held on May 14-19 2008, was responded greatly. During this conference CBCC Armenia was represented by Hasmik Hovhannisyan, producer. On June 9, 2008 the Brainstorming Session on training for film producers in Kyiv, Ukraine was held for CBCC representatives, trainers in production, legal experts, during which CBCC Armenia was represented by Susanna Harutyunyan, CBCC country coordinator and art-director of Golden Apricot IFF. On July 6-20, 2008 countries representatives were invited and presented for the participation in “Training for Cinema Journalists”, Yerevan, Armenia. On 15-17 July, 2008, CBCC countries representatives were invited and presented for participation in DAB 2nd Co-production Forum during 5th Golden Apricot IFF, Yerevan, Armenia. We are proud to mention that the recommendations, which were worked out after conferences, were circulated and discussed during different conferences and meetings, particularly Krakow’s conference (11-13 September, 2008) dedicated to the cinema and film production (making). The same recommendation packet will also be discussed during Baku summit meeting for the representatives of European countries’ ministers of culture which will be held on December, 2008. The issues mentioned above approve the CBCC program success. It is obvious, that all the performances ,realized on the framework of this program, had promoted the relations and the re-establishment of cultural field of the cinematographs (directors, film critics and producers from the Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia came to Armenia, got acquainted to their colleagues’’ films) from 5 countries involved in the “Kyiv Initiative” . This communications can be the stem of those cooperative programs, which is very important. In other words, CBCC became a real tool for the foundation of “Kyiv Initiative” programs in 8 months. It also opens the doors for the programs development, future actions and new initiatives. Everything mentioned above is the positive side of the initiatives, but there is also negative side: We must also mention that the programs could be more effective, if the countries’ program coordinators weren’t changed (e.g. Georgian). It’s clear that every time we had to represent and explain the problems to newcomers again and again. So the problem of financial insurance should be discussed and solved. The ministers must be coerced to solve it. |
