Affonso Uchôa

Affonso Uchôa is a filmmaker based in Contagem, Brasil. He wrote and directed the feature Afternoon Woman  (2010), shown in Mostra de Tiradentes, Semana dos Realizadores and CineEsquemaNovo. In 2014, he directed The Hidden Tiger. The film has been considered by many critics one of the most important brazilian films of the year, receiving the award for Best Picture in the Mostra de Tiradentes; the film was also awarded in festivals like Semana dos Realizadores, Cachoeira.doc, Olhar de Cinema, Mostra de Cinema e Direitos Humanos and it was internationally exhibited for the first time at the Hamburg FF, 2015. He also directed the short Desígnio (2009), exhibited in numerous Brazilian film festivals.

João Dumans

João Dumans is a screenwriter and director based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He wrote the feature film Where I grow old, directed by Marília Rocha that premiered internationally at the Rotterdam IFF, in the Tiger Competition Award, 2016. He co-wrote, co-edited and worked as an assistant director of the feature The Hidden Tiger, directed by Affonso Uchoa, that premiered at the Hamburg FF, 2015. He also worked as an executive producer and assistant director of The Residents, directed by Tiago Mata Machado, that premiered at the 61st Berlinale and was shown, among other festivals, at the Viennale (Austria), New Horizons (Poland) and Indielisboa (Portugal), in 2011. He also directed the medium-length documentary Everybody Has His Own Way (2014).
